Pantry Staples and the Coolest Kitchen Gadgets

It’s October and, as the weather gets colder, I become more of a homebody! My honey and I will spend a fall afternoon walking with Roxy and then settle in for the night with a big pot of chili, soup or stew. We’ll use items in our fully stocked pantry to cook up easy and comforting lunches and dinners. I’m inspired by the change of seasons and the sweater weather to share a list of my pantry staples. Our supply of kitchen gadgets go hand in hand with the items in our pantry. What would we cook our chili in if we didn’t have a dutch oven or crock pot?! So I’ve included a list of kitchen basics and the coolest kitchen gadgets around!

Here are my pantry staples, broken out by category:

for baking: flour, baking soda, baking powder, confectioner’s sugar, brown sugar, white sugar, baking chocolate, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, almond extract, canned pie filling, jello mix, jello pudding mix, frozen pie crust, frozen cookie dough, chocolate chips, coconut, sprinkles, food coloring

for breakfast: frozen waffles, pancake mix, syrup, frozen fruit, jam, frozen butter, frozen bagels, croissants, muffins, bread for toasting, cereal, oatmeal

for lunch: frozen bread, peanut butter, jelly, condiments, canned soup, soup mixes

for dinner: rice, quinoa, couscous, pasta, canned veggies, canned tomatoes, tomato sauce, chicken stock (homemade if you can), beef stock, frozen pumpkin (save it from pumpkin carving!), frozen veggies, frozen side dishes, frozen chicken, beef, pork, ground turkey (buy meats in bulk and on sale), onions, garlic, root vegetables, salt, pepper, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, oregano, thyme
