Since my friends and I are staying in at ski house for the holiday, I thought a photo booth would be a great idea! I picked up a glitter tinsel curtain from Amazon and some photo booth props to amp up the fun! I included some free printables below that you can easily print out for your own quick photo booth!

Another idea I loved was headbands instead of traditional party hats- I picked those up on Amazon too, link below!

How to Look Bright Eyed on New Year’s Eve

After using their previous products, I couldn’t wait to collaborate with InstaNatural again! This time they sent me over their Youth Express Eye Serum to review. This serum packs a punch of Vitamin C, Caffeine, Plant Stem Cells, and InstaNatural’s go to Hyaluronic Acid for moisture. What better time to try it out then right before a big New Year’s Eve celebration?!

In addition to helping diminish dark circles and calm down puffiness around my eyes, the serum also strengthens skin and reverses existing damage, and locks in moisture to help plump up skin and diminish the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. This sounds like a miracle in a bottle!

Here is some info from the InstaNatural site:

InstaNatural’s Youth Express Eye Serum is a highly concentrated blend of invigorating ingredients designed to restore a youthful appearance to the eye area. Our serum contains an advanced Peptide Complex – along with Plant Stem Cells, Matrixyl 3000, Astaxanthin, Kojic Acid, Caffeine, Passionflower, and Vitamins C and E – which help to deliver exceptional results to the under eye area, resulting in a decreased appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, dark circles and puffiness.

Key Ingredients:
+ Vitamin C
+ Plant Stem Cells
+ Astaxanthin
+ Kojic Acid
+ Passionflower
+ Caffeine
+ Hyaluronic Acid
+ Niacinamide
+ Matrixyl 3000

The serum is thick and rich, and is a wonderful bright color, that reminds me of a blood orange. The fresh citrus scent really brings it home for me- you know I love everything citrus scented, fresh and moisturizing! Triple Home run!

It glides on smoothly, absorbs quickly and leaves my skin feeling nourished and hydrated. I did feel more awake in my eye area, gotta love that caffeine, and I can’t wait to see the lasting effects the other ingredients will have on my skin!

I think this is a must try, all in one product from InstaNatural! I am so excited to look bright eyed and fresh faced on New Year’s Eve, and in all the photos I’m sure we will be taking!

I am a huge fan of taking a daily vitamin or supplement, so when ZenWise Labs reached out to partner with me on a review of their Hair Growth Vitamins, I jumped at the opportunity!

I have taken a biotin supplement before, and my hair has grown, my nails have become stronger and my skin has felt more supple. But I have never taken a supplement like this before! It is packed with 27 ingredients, that work their magic on your hair. It will grow, but also be stronger and you’ll have less fall out during washing and brushing.

Here is some more info from the ZenWise Labs site:

Zenwise Labs Hair Growth Vitamins formula contains our distinct blend of 27 ingredients, including 5000 mcg of Biotin, that promote hair growth and overall hair health. This formula also provides essential vitamins and antioxidants to address deficiencies that have been shown to cause hair loss.

Our all Natural formula can be used to:
Promote Thicker Fuller Hair
Stimulate Hair Growth
Address Vitamin Deficiencies Associated with Hair Loss

Key Ingredients:
Biotin
MSM (Methyl Sulfonyl Methane)
Grapeseed Extract
Saw Palmetto
Pumpkin (Seed-Curcubita Pepo)(4:1)
Gotu Kola (Herb-Centella Asiatica) (4:1)
Ginkgo Biloba (Leaf)
L-Lysine Hcl
L-Proline
Kelp
Citrus Bioflavanoids
Nettle (Leaf-Urtica Dioica)
Catalase
Resveratrol

My only complaint would be that the pills are on the larger side, and the suggested dose is two pills per day. I was previously taking one soft gel per day, so it was a little easier to swallow. I like to look on the bright side though, and a larger pill just means I need to drink more water to swallow it down, meaning I am hydrating even more!

I am loving the results of this supplement, my parents told me the other day that they have never seen my hair so shiny and silky looking!

Healthy hair doesn’t stop at taking a hair growth supplement, so I’ve shared some of my favorite hair care tips below.

I hope you have found these tips and tricks useful, and I hope you check out ZenWise Labs Hair Growth Vitamins!

How to Wrap a Gift Using 4 Pieces of Tape

Today I have a really quick gift-wrapping tutorial for you. I am showing you how to wrap a gift with only 4 pieces of tape! This method is simple, quick, effective and efficient. We all need more efficiency around the holidays if you ask me! Enjoy!

Step 1– Size up up your box and trim down the paper as needed. The box should lay front side facing down, and the paper should come up to the middle of the box. Add first piece of tape.

Step 2– Wrap the paper around the box and overlap the first piece, going slightly over the middle of the box. Add second piece of tape.

Step 3– Fold your corners in on a flat surface for a clean edge. I do one side of both ends, and then flip the box over and do the other side for nice crisp edges. Trim the excess from the bottom/back folds.

Step 4– Fold down the bottom edge of your ends. Fold the top edge over that. Add your 3rd piece of tape.

Step 5– Seal up the edges for the other side of the box. Add your fourth piece of tape. You can stop here and add a sticky bow and gift tag, or tie some ribbon and add a bow like I did below.

Happy Wrapping!

Last Minute Secret Santa Ideas

I’m so excited to be participating in the 2014 Bloggers Secret Santa Gift Exchange, all put together by the lovely Kristie of Blog Ambitions. She set us up with an Elfster group, which made it really easy to connect with your giftee and gifter while keeping it all a secret. I asked as many questions as I could, and started brainstorming an idea for my giftee, Janelle at The Peaceful Haven.

What better gift could you give to a stay-at-home Mom of six than a Pampering Kit?! I decided to make a few of the ingredients in order to stay within budget. I followed the recipes for the two scrubs below, and decided to make extra to give to some of my girlfriends as favors for our holiday ski house! I picked up some small containers from the grocery store, and I also saw some options at the dollar store. The tiny mason jars that Tonia used are adorable also!

Once you’ve made your DIY Sugar Scrub and DIY Foot Scrub (the Foot Soak looks divine as well), you can print out the adorable labels that I made below! I used coconut and cocoa butter body washes, both from Suave, that were on sale, and smell amazing!! I printed and cut out the labels, punched a hole and ran some yarn through to attach them to my containers. Voila! Adorable DIY gifts in a snap!

To round out my kit, I added the ingredients below. Use this as a guide, and be creative, adding the things that you love the most to pamper with!

Snappy Pampering Kit:
Sugar Scrub
Foot Scrub
Foot Lotion
Bath Salts
Spa Socks
Nail Polish
Nail Buffer
Candle
Tea
Makeup
Special Item

**Snap Tip:
Add a special item, something personal to the giftee. I added a beautiful glass ornament to my kit, since Janelle collects dainty blue and white china, I thought this would compliment her collection!

If you’re shipping your gift, remember to pack up the items so they’re safe and secure. Janelle loves green and blue, so I used coordinating tissue and ribbons to make the box really special when she opened it up! She also let me know that her 3 favorite makeup items were mascara, mascara, mascara, so I went with Maybelline The Rocket Mascara. It won the Battle of the Drugstore Mascaras: Round Two and the blue color was perfect for my gift bag. Once I have a theme, I run with it. Here is how it all came together.

Not feeling so crafty or short on time? I always find that slippers and warm socks are something that everyone loves around the holidays! I’ve rounded up a few of my favorites below. Click on each image to shop the post!

Now onto my own brand of wrapping goodness! As you may recall, I crafted my heart out in the first Home for the Holidays post, and needed something to gift all of the goodies in. I picked up red bins from the Dollar Store, and made them extra special with glitter ornaments, cellophane and a beautiful bow!

To beef up the homemade items in my gift baskets, I added a few store bought items to make each gift really special. I picked up platters and cookie cutters at Michael’s, along with some round ornaments. I also added in a Silicone Spatula from Amazon, to complete the Home for the Holidays theme! I’ve linked up the Kitchen Towels and Wooden Spoons that I DIY’s for you below!

Using some of my tips from my Truly Epic Gift Bag post, I built up my Home for the Holidays gift baskets on a layer of tissue. I added in items and positioned them for optimal viewability, so that every craft and item could be seen as best as possible. The spatulas and wooden spoons added nice height, and the platter added bulk. I rolled the towels to display the monograms, while saving some space and adding visual interest.

For the pet owners on my list, I added in a jar of Homemade Good Doggie Treats, using this recipe from Sarah at Venus Trapped in Mars. Here is a printable label that I created too! The name is a Modern Family reference to the Good Doggie Bad Doggie Training system- you can put a label on either side and turn the jar around depending on how your dog is acting!

I topped the baskets with handmade decorative trinkets like this Jingle Bell Wreath and these Snowflake Pom poms! As you can see, I made some extras to decorate around our house with, and added the mini wreaths to the tree!

Are you struggling with how to package a larger present? Here I’ve included some photos of what we brought to a friend’s house for a holiday housewarming, and how I packaged it all up!

As promised, here is my recipe for my Quick & Easy, Two Ingredient Peppermint Bark, as well as my tips on packaging it and trimming it up for the perfect holiday gift!

Quick & Easy, Two Ingredient Peppermint Bark

Ingredients

4 12oz bags of White Candy Melts
2 boxes of mini candy canes (approx 60 mini candy canes)

Directions

1. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper, set aside.
2. In a large freezer bag, add all of your candy canes and roll over with a rolling pin or crush under a cookie sheet. Reserve a few teaspoons of crushed candy canes for topping.
3. Follow the instructions for melting on your Candy Melts bag. I worked with one bag at a time, adding it to a microwave safe bowl, and microwaving at half power (or defrost) for one minute. I removed the bowl (it will be hot!), stirred the melts and microwaved at 30 second intervals until everything was melted.
3. Stir in 1/4 of the candy canes into each melted bowl of Candy Melts and mix thoroughly.
4. Spread out each portion of your Candy Melts and candy cane mixture onto 1/4 of your baking sheet. This allows you to work in batches, but combine all of your mixture onto one sheet for barking! (yes, barking is a word!)
5. After adding all of your candy cane and Candy Melt mixture to the baking sheet, top with your reserved crushed candy canes.
6. Let mixture cool in the fridge for 30 to 60 minutes. Remove from fridge and break into pieces as large or as small as you like. I like to make mine 2 bite size!
7. Serve and enjoy!

**SnapTip:
This makes a perfect gift! I packaged mine up in white take out boxes decorated with washi tape. These cute boxes were added to each of my gift baskets, and I had a few extra for neighbors, co-workers and friends that we visited around the holidays. Peppermint Bark makes for a refreshing dessert treat around the holidays!
